Playtime with Tor
Out of my passion for supporting gestalt language development, grew my passion project: Playtime with Tor. I started a YouTube channel to support Gestalt Language Processors and all of the grown-ups that support them! In my videos, I model strategies that are aligned with the Natural Language Acquisition (Marge Blanc, 2012) framework.
Here's what I do in my videos (and what you can do!) to support a GLP in the early stages of language development:

-
Use lots of declarative language
-
Use easily mitigable phrases
-
Use 1st person pronouns (I, me, we)
-
Use phrases for a variety of purposes
-
Use language that sounds natural
-
Use varied and interesting intonation
-
Sing songs with familiar melodies
Co-watching is highly recommended! Caregivers get to see first hand how they can begin to incorporate different language models into their everyday lives to support their GLP, while kids get exposure to language models in an entertaining way!
Note: Videos are NOT intended to replace speech-language therapy.
