My Approach
Communication allows us to form meaningful connections with one another. All of us have a right to be understood, and to express our desires, ideas, and feelings, as well as ask questions, share information, and tell jokes, if we wish. When a child struggles to communicate, it can be frustrating, and maybe even stressful, for your child and the entire family. Improving your child’s communication skills will increase your child’s self-confidence and most importantly, it will help them to feel seen and heard, which I believe every child deserves.
I believe therapy should start with connection and trust. My therapy sessions are play-based and child-led, as this creates more meaningful and relevant learning opportunities for the child. I promote using multi-modal communication, which accepts and encourages all forms of communication whether it be gestures, sign language, pictures, AAC devices, vocalizations, and speaking.

When planning treatment, I consider not only your child's difficulties, but also their strengths, interests, sensory needs, and learning style. Additionally, I keep in mind your family’s needs, preferences, and values. I strive to empower families by sharing my knowledge and providing guidance and support. I value open and honest communication, and I approach therapy with playfulness, compassion, and patience.
